3 bikes, 4 catalytic converters stolen - Evanston Now

Three bicycles and four catalytic converters were reported stolen throughout the city so far this week and are among the stories in Thursday’s crime bulletin from Evanston police.

THEFT 1800 Main A black Retrospec bicycle was taken from the common area of a residential building in the 1800 block of Main Street early Tuesday evening.

2100 Ridge A silver Specialized bicycle secured to a bike rack was taken from the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue between noon on Sunday and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

600 Howard A secured red-green Bianchi bicycle was stolen from the 600 block of Howard Street between 7:42 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.

1000 Forest A catalytic converter was removed from a 2000 Honda in the 1000 block of Forest Avenue between noon Sunday and noon Wednesday.

A catalytic converter was removed from a 2006 Honda in the 1000 block of Forest Avenue between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 7:05 a.m. Wednesday.

1000 Michigan A catalytic converter was removed from a 2006 Honda in the 1000 block of Michigan Avenue between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

800 Washington A catalytic converter was removed from a 2006 Cadillac in the 800 block of Washington Street between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

600 Chicago Personal products were taken from Walgreens Pharmacy in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday.

1800 Sheridan A phone was stolen from the beach in the 1800 block of Sheridan Road between 5 p.m. and 8:17 p.m. Wednesday.

800 Dobson Miscellaneous items were taken in a residential theft in the 800 block of Dobson Street around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

BATTERY 2722 Reese Peter T. Barnes, 41, of 2722 Reese Ave., was arrested at that address at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and charged with domestic battery.

2303 Foster Brian A. Young, 35, of 1415 Sherwin Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 2303 Foster St. at 12:15 a.m. Thursday and charged with domestic battery.

7357 Clark David Joseph Burns, 42, of Chicago, was arrested at 7357 N. Clark St., Chicago, at 3:43 p.m. Monday and charged with battery.

BURGLARY 1500 Chicago Electronic items were stolen from an unlocked 2015 Mercedes in the 1500 block of Chicago Avenue around 4 p.m. Saturday.

GRAFFITI 900 Davis Graffiti was spray-painted on Chicago Transit Authority property in the 900 block of Davis Street between 8:45 a.m. and 2:11 p.m. Tuesday.

2500 Church Graffiti was discovered spray-painted on a gas station in the 2500 block of Church Street at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

2000 Green Bay Graffiti was discovered spray-painted on the street in the 2000 block of Green Bay Road at 1:59 a.m.Thursday.

OTHER 1950 Green Bay Kenneth Jermaine Perry, 23, of 7433 N. Wolcott Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 1950 Green Bay Road at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday and charged with resisting arrest.

Incidents listed appear among the official reports of the Evanston Police Department. An arrest does not constitute an assumption of guilt, which can only be determined by a court of law. Court appearances take place at Cook County 2nd District Court in Skokie.
