Already, there are a great number of secrets available for players to enjoy. This comes from either feature that players may not be aware of, or fun Easter eggs in Saints Row, hiding in plain sight in the vastness of the open world game. Hidden secrets are commonplace in games like Saints Row, with discoveries inbound.

One of the most renowned and beloved aspects of the Saints Row franchise is that the protagonist can be anyone the player can make. Regardless of gender or franchise, The Boss can be anyone they choose. Many people make their version of The Boss a popular character from other pieces of fiction, or even real-life people. Considering there are so many customization options, it is hard to just stick with one boss.

Thankfully, the 2022 reboot of Saints Row features a Style option, which allows players to save and load the Bosses they have created under My Bosses, and seamlessly load into them and change their appearances on the fly.

One of the many secrets behind Saints Row will always be the mystery of where the original Saints Row crew is. With this reboot, characters like Johnny Gat are missing. Johnny Gat is one of the most iconic characters in Saints Row and seems to make very subtle appearances in the reboot for Saints Row.

Johnny Gat can be seen as the mascot for the videogame within the video game of Saints Row, titled Saints of Rage. Johnny Gat appears as the protagonist of this video game, as well as the character is seen on a t-shirt that can be worn by the player. It’s subtle, but it’s there.

With almost every reboot of a beloved franchise, fans may wonder about or fear the change that comes with them. Luckily, the 2022 Saints Row confirms the location of the two previous open-world areas from the Saints Row franchise. There are road signs that suggest the general geography of Stilwater and Steelport, confirming that the locations where the original Saints gang took over, still exist.

It’s a fun secret to discover amongst the many desert areas on the map. The signs also indicate the location of Stilwater and Steelport against other famed locations, like London and Paris, further confusion as to where these cities are located.

A franchise that is no stranger to Easter eggs, Saints Row features an abundance of references and fun Easter eggs that homage and goof off on other famous franchises. With such a large map, it’s surprising to see such an abundance of content restricted to the Badlands South area of the game.

In the Badlands South, players will find a glory of Easter eggs, ones that they may recognize from other gaming franchises or TV shows. It’s a lot of fun to explore the open world, especially with the gift of a fun reference.

Sometimes, building a criminal empire alone can be a difficult task. Luckily, fans of Saints Row (2022) will find themselves in familiar territory with the other Saints Row games, as this title does include co-op, it just isn’t made abundantly aware of that fact.

Players can choose between Host Game, Join Friend, Host New Game, and Matchmaking, so that they can experience the open world and quality of missions available to the players, with a friend or a stranger. This secret adds a whole new level of fun.

One of the most infamous business models in gaming has been the inclusion of microtransactions. These can exist in many forms. From loot boxes to the purchase of in-game currency to gain items and weapons that will advantage the player who has spent real-world money in a video game. Saints Row (2022) pokes fun at that fact.

In the mission The Dustmoot, a chest can be found that asks players to pay $2.99 to open. It’s the game’s attempt at dissing and making fun of the abundance of microtransactions that seem to plague the video game market.

In the Badlands South, players will stumble across a rather ominous structure. This large and metallic monolith features rocks around it, lacking gravity. Upon the surface of the monolith, are instructions, but written in a way where it seems like a riddle that needs answering. This mystery may not have been fully revealed so far.

Many of the instructions on the monolith have been discovered, and players have found a shack with an underground UFO, hidden from the sights of civilians. This UFO cannot be flown, yet, anyway.

A secret ending is a much-desired request for players that have exhausted all options. Players that spend a dedicated amount of time in the world, completing everything the game has to offer, deserve a closing chapter on the game they have invested so much time in. Saints Row’s secret ending is a strange one but fits into the realm of other Saints Row games.

Instead of a tease for what’s to come next for the Saints, the crew and their gang sing karaoke, and celebrate their new criminal empire with The B-52’s Love Shack song. 100% completion in Saints Row will grant players this secret ending.

Saints Row is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
