A mystery Mercedes has seemingly been abandoned next to Tower Bridge. The car, worth roughly between £32,000 and £36,000, has reportedly been a sitting duck on the pavement for the last three weeks. Dirt has built up on the car, with pranksters walking past and drawing on the vehicle.
Not much is known about why the car has been sitting there for such a long time, as Transport for London - who manage the road - did not respond to requests in time for publication. Although since being contacted by MyLondon, Tower Hamlets Council say they have removed the car. Some curious Londoners have been posting their theories on Reddit about the Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 AMG Line Auto.
One user wrote sarcastically: "It's an art installation about the consumer lifestyle and the disposable society we live in, quite brilliant." Another user joked: "Well the owner has had 3 weeks free parking in Central London, probably on their way home from Benidorm right now."

While some users showed their curiosity, others had grand plans for what they could do to the car if it continues to sit on the pavement. One Reddit user said: "I reckon we start to dress it up, liven it up with some paint doodles, epoxy some found objects on to it, make it a community participatory public art work."
Many other users thought that the car had not been picked up yet as it is not explicitly causing an obstruction to moving traffic, as its sitting on the pavement, meaning the police may not not get involved.
A Tower Hamlets spokesperson said: “While the vehicle was located on a TfL road, the vehicle has been removed by Tower Hamlets to the car pound as the vehicle is smashed and could cause a danger to members of the public.”
