Contrinex offers weld-immune inductive proximity sensors, differentiated by three unique features, to offer the best performance and longevity, whilst being able to withstand high-intensity magnetic fields. Activstone ceramic coating An upgrade in resilience to weld-splatter and providing “easier cleaning than the PTFE coating offered by competitors”, Contrinex offers a high-performance ceramic coating option. The ACTIVSTONE coating provides high levels of durability from both heat and abrasion. It reduces the accumulation of weld spatter and can withstand cleaning with wire brushes giving a longer sensor life, fewer machine breakdowns and improved OEE. Custom-designed accessories, including fixing nuts and mounting brackets, are also available with the ACTIVSTONE-coating. Heavy-duty PUR cables and optional high-temperature-rated spatter-resistant shrouds to prevent cable damage also contribute to robust sensor systems. Combining high durability in harsh environments with extended working life, Contrinex’s enhanced weld-immune sensor range is a highly affordable, risk-free option for systems integrators and equipment designers in diverse industries, including automotive, aerospace, electronics and white goods. Impact & abrasion resistance Contrinex offers weld-immune sensors as part of its EXTREME 700 Series, which offers high robustness and long sensing distances. They feature a housing machined from a single piece of stainless steel with a thick front face which provides extraordinary abrasion resistance. The sensor’s technology gives it enhanced abilities to resist shock and impact damage – this is typically demonstrated by showing a sensor surviving being used to hammer nails into a wooden block. Chip immunity Contrinex incorporates its ‘chip-immunity’ technology into the weld-immune sensors to enable them to continue to work reliably even when its front face has collected a build-up of weld spatter. Long sensing range to keep out of trouble The 700 Series sensors also benefit from true ‘Factor 1’ sensing, which can sense steel and aluminium targets equally effectively at up to an 8mm distance. Therefore, the sensor can be positioned further away from potential damage from moving parts and the build-up of weld-spatter.
